HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT CONTRACT USER GROUP

The Hazardous Waste Management Contract User Group was formed to coordinate the ideas and requirements of state agencies and political subdivisions in developing and evaluating the Hazardous Waste Management Request for Proposal, and then managing the resulting contract. The Hazardous Waste Management Contract User Group meets on an as-needed basis and is comprised of a cross section of state agencies and political subdivisions including:

  • Department of Transportation
  • Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
  • University of Minnesota
  • Dakota County
  • Hennepin County
  • Sherburne County

FURNITURE USER GROUP

The Furniture User Group meets as necessary. This group discusses such items as vendor performance, product specifications and applications, potential items for contracts, product performance and whether any items are available for inter-agency transfer.

CONFERENCE PLANNERS GROUP

The Conference Planners Group meets on a monthly basis. This group discusses such items as terms and conditions, how to determine agency needs, policy and procedures and issues that come up that may be unique to this type of purchasing.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS TEAM (ITS)

The Information Technology Solutions Team was established by the MMD and is composed of both Information Technology Specialists and Procurement Specialists from state agencies, political subdivisions, and K-12 and Higher Education. Its primary function is to solicit input from these entities in order to initiate, develop and evaluate technology-related Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and subsequent contracts on an ongoing basiss. This team also initiates and schedules vendor forums whereby participants can learn about new and emerging technologies, and discuss and seek resolution of common issues.

The Information Technology Solutions Team meets the first Wednesday of each month and is well represented by a cross section of state agencies and political subdivisions.

PROFESSIONAL/TECHNICAL CONTRACTS GROUP

This informational group is comprised of designated representatives from each state agency and is administered by the Materials Management Division. The group is designed to disseminate information on state policy, procedures, and laws related to contracting and to resolve contracting issues presented by its members. The group meets monthly. The Materials Management Division is responsible for assembling the agenda.

PROCUREMENT COORDINATORS & ENVIRONMENTAL WORK GROUP

The Procurement Coordinators & Environmental Work Group meets quarterly, the second Monday of January, April, July and October, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 116B of the Administration Building. The meeting, led by the Acquisitions Manager, provides a forum for developing ideas about how to best meet the state's needs in purchasing and environmental issues, discussing problems, recommending solutions, and announcing new ideas and changes. This work group gives agencies a voice in establishing priorities and concentrating resources, as well as providing insight into recent developments in purchasing from MMD. All agencies are invited to attend.
